About this course

Architecture at the scale of the organisation. Learners use enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF 10, ArchiMate) pragmatically, map capabilities and value streams, rationalise application portfolios, plan modernisation of legacy estates with the 6 Rs, strangler-fig and coexistence patterns, design governance that enables delivery through paved roads rather than gates, shape operating models and team topologies, and build roadmaps and business cases that include sustainability and exit risk.

For: architect, tech leader.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion you will be able to:

  1. 1Explain the purpose and structure of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF 10 and its ADM, ArchiMate) and how enterprise architecture links strategy, capabilities, applications and technology.
  2. 2Apply capability mapping, value-stream analysis and application-portfolio assessment to identify rationalisation and investment opportunities.
  3. 3Create a modernisation strategy for a legacy estate using the 6 Rs, strangler-fig and coexistence patterns, with a risk-managed data migration and cutover plan.
  4. 4Design an architecture governance model - principles, standards, review boards, waivers, reference architectures and paved roads - that enables rather than blocks delivery.
  5. 5Shape operating models, team topologies and platform funding that sustain the target architecture, and take responsibility for their organisational consequences.
  6. 6Build and defend an architecture roadmap and business case to executives, accounting for sustainability, exit and concentration risk.
